An Actual Thank You

I love General Conference.
I love hearing from our Prophet, his counselors and our Apostles.
I appreciate the teachings from the General Authorities.
I love listening to the Auxiliary presidencies.
And for the last few years, I have loved Sister Julie Beck.
I watched her serve diligently, seriously, and tirelessly.  She taught me so much.  I was selfishly sad to see her released at General Conference.  But I was happy for her (and her family) for the tremendous load to be eased off her shoulders for a time.
When our leaders are released I always wish I could thank them for all they have done for me personally.  But, since I don't know them and never get to see them, that hasn't ever happened.
Until today.
Sister Beck was in our ward for her nephew's mission homecoming talk.  After sacrament meeting she was surrounded by family, and then she slipped out the chapel door.  I was disappointed because I really wanted to thank her.  But as I left the chapel, I noticed her in the foyer.  I was able to tell her thanks for all the many things she has taught me and for all her service.  We shared two heartfelt hugs.  It was such a blessing to be able to personally express the thankfulness you feel in your heart.  It was my little tender mercy for the day.
Thank you, Sister Beck.
