A couple of years I added a post with this same title, only I posted about the beautiful pink blossoms on our popcorn/nectarine tree just outside our kitchen windows. This spring, I looked out the window in Rockville and what did I see? I saw Tristan falling out of the tree he was pruning just outside the kitchen window. He was standing on top of the four wheeler seat and reaching up with his chain saw to cut off a limb of the tree. When he cut the limb, it pushed backwards into him and knocked him down. I looked out the window just in time to see him falling down, flat on his back with the chair saw still going. I screamed, "Grandpa fell out of the tree!" and ran outside as fast as I could. Luckily, the cutting chain on the saw stopped sawing when his hand released its grip even though the motor was still going. And luckily, he fell onto the grass flat on his back instead of onto his newly repaired torn rotator cuff shoulder. And luckily, he is pretty tough and was ok. But I wasn't ok and when he saw me crying and scared, then it scared him, too. It got all of us outside in a hurry, however, so we could help pick up the branches that had been pruned.
I would lots rather see pink blossoms popping on the nectarine tree than Tristan falling and lying on the ground in a puzzle of pruned branches. Whew!
