And She's Off....

Here's to another one of those days that I hate and love all in the same moment. Kaitlin left the MTC and flew to Chile today. We got to talk to her briefly on the phone while she was at the SLC airport, and then for another few minutes on her layover in Atlanta before she flew out of the country. She is flying high with anticipation and nerves. I'm grounded with a lump in my throat. Don't get me wrong, I am SO happy she gets to serve a mission, but the mother in me is having a little struggle tonight. I'm feeling a little shade of Hannah giving her son, Samuel, to the Lord at the temple.

I try not to be proud, but I can't help being proud of the choices all of my children have made to serve missions. I am so proud of them. While it can be tough at home when I am lonesome for them, their missions have had filled and blessed their lives and the lives of their spouses. I am so grateful for this surprise blessing of Kaitlin choosing to serve.
So I guess I will just go to bed and sleep. My throat has a lump. My heart is uncomfortably full of joy, and my eyes just won't stop watering.
