Missionary Brothers
I have a little Wedgewood vase that my brother, Ed, sent to me while he was on his mission in England. Every time I look at the vase, I remember him and the time he served in England. I also have a beautiful opal necklace that my oldest brother, Randy, sent to me for Christmas when he was serving in Australia on his mission. I still wear it occasionally and think of him when I do wear it. I don't remember that my youngest brother, Robert, sent anything home to me when he served in Japan. But, I was fortunate to travel with my mother when she went to Japan to pick him up after his mission. I really enjoyed meeting people he loved and seeing the places he served. I bought these inexpensive, rice paper dressed dolls and have loved them these many years.
These gifts are fast becoming antiques!
I am grateful for my brothers and the missions they served. They established a pattern of missionary service in our family. I also love these little momentos that remind me that I love my brothers.
