Comatose?

Sometimes when I look back on my life of raising seven kids, it seems like it happened to someone else. Now that I am on this end of that experience, it seems like it just whizzed by so quickly and that I was in a daze for most of it. Or maybe I was unconscious and I am just now coming into a conscious state. I don't know, but sometimes it all seems like it was a dream.

This past week I had my grandson, Tyler, staying with us while his parents were away. It was so fun. On Friday, his three brothers joined him and we took them all down to Rockville. Tristan's sister was there visiting with her four kids who stayed at our house and played all day long on Saturday. Eight kids in a little house all day! At first, I was aware of the extra noise and kept picking up all the clutter. It didn't take long, however, to find I had re-entered my unconscious state: unless you screamed like you were hurt, I didn't notice. Unless I stepped on the Legos, I didn't know they were ALL OVER the house. I did get grossed out by someone's bug smeared on the wall. It was so fun, but I decided that being in a daze or unconscious made it all a lot more fun.

  1. Thanks Mom, I know they are a lot of work and a lot of noise, and a lot of mess. They had a great time with you.
